Dr. Tamjeed is a highly skilled General & Laparoscopic Specialist Surgeon with over 14 years of clinical experience in the field, both in Bangladesh and in the United Kingdom. He specialises in performing Laparoscopic Surgery for numerous benign, malignant and emergency abdominal conditions. He also takes a special interest in performing Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstructions, Gastric & Colo-Rectal Cancer surgery and Onco-plastic Breast Cancer surgery. He has published numerous scientific articles and has presented at prestigious national and international conferences. He is the recipient of “Special Mention Award” at the International congress of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS), UK in 2019 for his research on Gastric Cancer Surgery.

  • Graduated from Bangladesh Medical College and obtained MBBS from Dhaka University in 2006.
  • Obtained Membership (MRCS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014.
  • Obtained Fellowship in Surgery (Surgery) from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS) in 2017
  • He is an affiliated life member of many prestigious national and international surgical societies including the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society (APHS), Association of Upper GI Surgeons of UK (AUGIS), Hernia Society of Bangladesh (HSB), Society of Endo-Laparoscopic Surgeons of Bangladesh (SELSB) and the Society of Surgeon, Bangladesh (SOSB).
  • He has undertaken intensive higher surgical training through various courses in the fields of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Hernia Surgery and Onco-Surgery from India and the United Kingdom.
  • He is a certified Basic Surgical Skills trainer and a regular faculty for surgical training at BCPS
  • He is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dhaka Central International Medical College. Between 2018 and 2020, Dr. Tamjeed served as a Senior Specialist Registrar of General & Colorectal Surgery at the William Harvey Hospital, UK. Prior to that, he had served in the Dept. of Surgery, Bangladesh Medical College Hospital (BMCH) from 2008 until 2018.
